Fan oscillating drive mechanism

The Exhibit is made out of 4mm sun board with grey, light grey and black coloured vinyl applied on either sides. The Drive assembly is hung from the roof so that the exhibit is slightly above the eye level. For the slow speed drive we have used the Table fan's osscillating gear box.

SLIT HORSE

Rope winding to drum and the clutch assembly

For the sliding we have used the steel telescopic drawer slide. The slide is moved be a rope wound on a drum. To avoid the strain on the rope when the end of travel is reached , we have added a clutch to slip. The return of the slide is done with the help of a counter weight.

Reaction Time

Stick before dropping

Bell , Solenoid & Cam Assy.

The Dropping stick is made out of wood with SS etched scale fitted in a recess. The assembly slides on two corners in Teflon fitted slides . The timer Assy. is made with a one RPM motor with 3 positions cam . The positions are not uniform thus it is difficult to guess the next release time. The holding is done with a Solenoid latch . The solenoid releases the stick , strikes the Bell and Lights the Bulb.

Eyeballs

Eye balls are made out of semi sphericals adjusted for the focal length. For both the eyeballs the

eye lens is +3 Diopter. Movable spectacles is operated from a flexible shaft with a lever outside the glass enclosure. The +1 lens is mounted in the spectacle for Long Sight and -1 lens is mounted for the short sight spectacle.

Co-0peration

This is a very interesting exhibit which tests the patience of the visitors also. The pull string pass over pulley with ball bearings.

3D-Zeotrope

We have used 'Piaggo' scooter front wheel assembly along with the wheel rim. The table is mounted on the rim and the rim also used as a pulley. The strobe is a standard one which they use in the theatres.
