MONOCULAR PERCEPTION

The height adjustable board has a counter weight and an eye slot so that only one eye is used. There are two positions for the target to accommodate visitors of different age groups. The centre pipe is filled with ballast to make the exhibit stable.

REVERSE MASK

We used white painted vacuum formed standard masks. Only the mounting of the reverse mask was difficult.

FLOATING RINGS

300 dia ,6mm plated rings are used .They are mounted on a turntable of 30 rpm . It can be stopped by operating the push switch . An acrylic cover is used to protect the exhibit from handling.

SHIMMER

This is a simple exhibit with a laminated digital printout pasted to the board.

COLOR REVERSAL

Usually only two colors Red and Green are used but we have also used the another color Blue also . Another difference is the addition of a Black exhibit " Rushi" with a head knot representing the saint figure . For some people it is not possible to have the after image effect and hence no color reversal takes place.

BENHAM DISC

This is a exhibit in which the visitor is involved manually. Cycle crank is used as a driving handle. Initially we used the cycle sprocket , free wheel with chain drive. This did s not work properly due to chain falling off the sprocket. The problem was solved by converting the spokes to pulley, with nylon rope. The nylon rope joint was not satisfactory. So finally we settled for sewing m/c round leather rope. The free wheel arrangement is nice as the handle will not backfire. We have used ball bearings in housings. To give stability we have provided a Balast box at the lower portion of the table.
